Transformasi Pengurusan Rekod Sektor Awam Negeri Sarawak

Abstract

The transformation of the Sarawak State Public Service towards digital is one of the continuous commitments by the Sarawak State Government to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery. Under the Sarawak State Library Ordinance 1999, Part IV, Section 14, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PUSTAKA) is responsible and plays a role as the State Depository. This paper will share the initiatives and activities undertaken by PUSTAKA in the transformation of public sector records in Sarawak towards digital records management. The pandemic has impacted the transformation towards digital record usage and has become a major reason why government departments and agencies have begun using online/digital platforms to deliver services to the public. To ensure that the collection of records transferred to PUSTAKA can be accessed by the public as reference materials with administrative, legal, fiscal, and historical value, PUSTAKA actively conducts activities aimed at providing exposure and literacy in using materials via platforms that have been enhanced in line with new norms. Various projects at both the PUSTAKA and state levels are implemented in collaboration with the Sarawak State Government, such as the Archival Records Management System (ARMS), Correspondence and Case Tracking Unified System (CACTUS), and Sarawak Digital Records Management System (SDRMS) to support the state government's initiatives towards transforming public services. In line with the implementation of the Sarawak State Digital Government Initiative, access to and reference of records and archives, as well as record management in departments, can be enhanced through transformation initiatives.
