Editor's Note
Abstract
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the publication of this special issue of the Journal of Social Sciences and Technical Education (JOSSTED). This special issue of JOSSTED is dedicated to lecturers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (JKM) who wish to share their knowledge and innovation projects in applied research in TVET.
The theme of this special issue is "Research Culture as a Transformation for Academic Excellence". The organization of this special issue will foster a culture of research among the lecturers ensuring esteemed educationalists to be able to compete incoherent to the current transformation in Malaysia. This is in accordance with The Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education) where this publication is another effort of the Ministry of Education to enable academicians and research institutions to instil, develop and cultivate research and innovation in public sectors.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Politeknik Kuching Sarawak for the opportunity of publication. In particular, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to Cr. Dr. Ling Ying Leh, the Chief Editor of JOSSTED for encouragement, guidance, critics, and insightful comment. Without his continued support and interest, this publication would not have been the same as presented here.
