The arrival of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has had a huge impact on all areas of business, making machines and digital technologies smarter and more automated. Industry 4.0 is about transforming the way businesses function and grow, not only about investing in new technology and tools to boost industrial efficiency. The concept of Industry 4.0 is an opportunity for development and competitiveness improvement, using sophisticated software, networks sensors to plan, predict, adjust and control to optimize the system quality. Due to this massive development, it promotes the studies and research to support all technologies, sectors as well as culture and society.

This special edition of the Journal of Social Sciences and Technical Education (JoSSTEd) aims to bring and gather researchers to share their research and thought that leads to the development of Industry 4.0. A total of seven articles are submitted, reviewed extensively, and accepted. The researchers come from a variety of disciplines and industries, including automation, telecommunications, and educational technology.  All of the articles and features in this issue cover the most recent breakthroughs in digital technology, ranging from mobile apps to smart censoring, controlling, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. Aside from cutting-edge research, this issue offers a critical review of the existing technologies' promise and limitations, as well as their implications for industrial technology in the fourth revolution.

We thank JoSSTEd, particularly chief editor Cr. Dr. Ling Ying Leh, for his generous research vision and patient support of our ambition to do research and explore new horizons. We hope that by working together on this topic, we can encourage more research and innovation ideas.
