Pembelajaran Sepanjang Hayat: Kecenderungan Permintaan Industri Dari Perspektif Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam

Abstract

Pembelajaran sepanjang hayat merupakan suatu proses pendemokrasian pendidikan yang menjadi hub kepada institusi pengajian tinggi sejajar dengan lonjakan permintaan dari industri. Namun, permintaan ini tidak selari dengan penawaran program berbentuk industri yang diterima oleh peserta industri. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kecenderungan permintaan industri terhadap program pembelajaran sepanjang hayat dari perspektif institusi pengajian tinggi. Sejumlah 510 orang tenaga pengajar berjaya dikumpul melalui instrumen soal selidik di empat jenis institusi pengajian tinggi awam iaitu universiti awam, politeknik, kolej komuniti dan institut latihan perindustrian dengan menggunakan kaedah persampelan rawak strata berkadaran. Hasil analisis mendapati penawaran kursus berkaitan industri penarik utama kepada permintaan industri untuk terlibat dalam program pembelajaran sepanjang hayat dan diikuti dengan kompetensi tenaga pengajar, dan kelengkapan infrastruktur. Akhir sekali, kajian berkenaan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat ini mampu menjadi rujukan kepada pemegang dasar, pembekal institusi pengajian tinggi, penggerak industri dan umumnya kepada pembaca dalam bersama-sama menambahbaik sistem pendidikan tinggi negara dalam menghadapi era revolusi industri 4.0.
