Kaedah Simulasi Do It Yourself (DIY) Dalam Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Kimia Tingkatan 4 Tajuk Jadual Berkala Unsur

Abstract

Simulasi Do It Yourself (DIY) merupakan satu kaedah simulasi pembelajaran yang diadaptasi dan diubahsuai untuk membantu murid dalam menerangkan perubahan sifat fizik merentasi kala dan kumpulan dalam tajuk Jadual Berkala Unsur. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk meningkatkan kefahaman murid tingkatan 4 dalam matapelajaran Kimia tajuk Jadual Berkala Unsur subtajuk sifat fizik unsur dalam kumpulan dan kala. Kajian ini melibatkan 20 orang peserta kajian yag terdiri daripada murid Tingkatan 4. Tinjauan awal mendapati murid menghadapi kesukaran dalam memahami dan menerangkan perubahan sifat fizik unsur dalam kumpulan dan kala. Pengkaji menggunakan reka bentuk kajian tindakan dan menggunapakai model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart (1988).  Dalam proses mengumpulkan data, ujian pra dan ujian pasca telah diberikan kepada peserta kajian.  Pengkaji telah mendedahkan kaedah simulasi Do It Yourself (DIY) kepada peserta kajian selama 20 minit bagi setiap sesi selama tiga minggu. Sebelum simulasi Do it Yourself (DIY) ini diperkenalkan, semua peserta kajian telah melalui proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Hasil analisis data mendapati terdapat peningkatan prestasi yang ketara dalam ujian pasca peserta kajian. Dapatan hasil temubual pula mendapati peserta kajian menunjukkan minat dan mereka berasa seronok dengan kaedah simulasi Do It Yourself (DIY).
