Kepentingan Penglibatan Ibu Bapa Dalam Perkembangan Kognitif Kanak-Kanak Prasekolah

Abstract

Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2025 telah menekankan aspek bekerjasama dengan ibu bapa secara meluas dalam anjakan ke-9. Kerjasama bersama ibu bapa telah dilihat menjadi salah satu keperluan dalam pendidikan awal kanak-kanak. Justeru, kajian ini dilaksanakan bagi menerokai sejauh mana kepentingan penglibatan ibu bapa dalam perkembangan kognitif kanak-kanak prasekolah. Penglibatan ibu bapa menjadi satu keperluan yang dituntut bersama pada zaman era globalisasi ini. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk meneroka sejauh mana kepentingan penglibatan ibu bapa dalam perkembangan kognitif kanak-kanak prasekolah. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Reka bentuk penyelidikan adalah kajian kes tunggal bagi mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang kepentingan penglibatan ibu bapa dalam perkembangan kognitif kanak-kanak prasekolah. Persampelan bertujuan adalah terdiri dalam kalangan ibu bapa prasekolah. Kaedah temu bual, pemerhatian dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk prosedur pengumpulan data. Analisis tematik mewujudkan tiga tema, antaranya adalah tanggungjawab, bekerjasama dan penglibatan aktif. Dapatan kajian mendapati ibu bapa sanggup melaksanakan tanggungjawab dalam membimbing dan mendidik pembelajaran anak-anak, memantau pembelajaran anak-anak, melibatkan diri secara aktif dalam setiap aktiviti prasekolah termasuk menyediakan sumber pembelajaran anak-anak. Kesimpulannya, kajian ini mendapati penglibatan ibu bapa memainkan peranan penting dalam perkembangan kognitif kanak-kanak prasekolah. Implikasi kajian adalah untuk menekankan kepentingan kerjasama antara ibu bapa dan guru prasekolah untuk menyokong perkembangan kognitif dalam kalangan kanak-kanak prasekolah.
