Kajian Persepsi Pelajar Universiti dan Cadangan Penambahbaikan Pelaksanaan Kaedah Pengajaran TPR dalam Kelas Bahasa Mandarin

Abstract

Kaedah pengajaran Total Physical Response (TPR) telah lama digunakan di negara lain, namun ia tidak begitu popular lagi di Malaysia, khususnya dalam bidang pengajaran bahasa Mandarin sebagai bahasa asing di institusi pengajian tinggi. Kajian ini adalah lanjutan kajian pengkaji untuk memaparkan perspektif baharu daripada pelajar pengajian tinggi tempatan terhadap kaedah pengajaran TPR. Seramai 32 orang pelajar bukan penutur natif bahasa Mandarin telah menjawab soal selidik. Keputusan menunjukkan pelajar mempunyai persepsi positif terhadap keempat-empat peringkat (persembahan: 4.25, peniruan: 3.96, pemahaman 4.10, aplikasi: 4.00). Dengan kata lain, kaedah pengajaran TPR diterima baik oleh pelajar dalam pembelajaran kosa kata bahasa Mandarin. Selain itu, beberapa cadangan penambahbaikan telah disyorkan kepada pengajar dan pelajar semasa menggunakan kaedah pengajaran TPR dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin sebagai bahasa asing dalam konteks Malaysia.
