STUDENT PERCEPTION TOWARD MOOC IN STUDY SKILLS CLASS
Abstract
This paper aims to identify the student’s perception of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) module in Study Skills Class. The Massive Open Online courses are defined as an online platform in a learning process that supports the learning process implement in the classroom. The total amount of 152 respondents among semester one students taking Study Skills class was selected to participate in this research—the statistical method used to evaluate the students’ perception of MOOC. A set of questionnaires will be developed to identify students’ perceptions through the implementation of MOOCs in the classroom. It is shown that students’ perception of MOOC gives a better effect on students’ understanding of the lesson thought in class. MOOCs also help them in answering questions, increase their level of confidence in providing comments or opinions, and motivate them to finish the module through active learning. MOOC also makes the lesson more appealing compared to traditional teaching and learning.
