Abstract

This study explores the effect of core muscle intervention training on the body balance of child dancers. The participants were 22 dancers aged 7-12 from Shangyun Dance School in Beijing, China. All participants were selected through purposive sampling to ensure they met the criteria for participation, and written consent was obtained from all participants’ guardians prior to the start of the program. Data was collected using quantitative methods and processed through repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA). The training was divided into three phases during the eight-week core muscle intervention program, gradually increasing the training load. Results showed significant improvement in the children’s core stability after eight weeks of training, reflecting in better body balance, body control, and stability. For future research, the author recommends adding a control group to the experimental design to better evaluate the specific effects of core muscle intervention training. Conducting the training for an extended time beyond eight weeks will also give insights into the effects of long-term training on the physical fitness of child dancers. In summary, targeted core muscle intervention training is can yield significant improvements in child dancers’ body balance.
