HaihunHou Site Park Commercial Space Children Universal Design Research
Abstract
The Han Haihun Marquis Cemetery in Nanchang, Jiangxi, one of China’s top archaeological discoveries, has greatly enhanced the cultural and historical significance of the region. While its rich heritage has attracted widespread attention, there is a growing need to explore how such cultural sites can be made more accessible and inclusive. This research focuses on the integration of universal design principles into the commercial spaces surrounding the Haihun Marquis site, with an emphasis on enhancing accessibility for children, including those with disabilities. Through qualitative research methods, including case studies and document analysis, this research investigates how cultural heritage sites can incorporate user-friendly design features to support inclusivity. The findings demonstrate the potential for blending historical preservation with modern design to create accessible environments, offering insights into future applications for theme-based commercial spaces.
