Abstract

This research focuses on safety features influencing the residents’ satisfaction with low-cost housing in Kelantan, particularly the Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) low-cost strata housing in Kota Bharu. The authorities of PPR should pay serious attention to safety features to improve the satisfaction level of residents with low-cost housing. Neglecting the safety features of the low-cost housing can influence the satisfaction level regarding the residents' safety. The research objectives include determining the safety features that affect the satisfaction level of residents of the PPR low-cost strata housing in Kota Bharu and ranking the most important features that influence the satisfaction level of residents’ of PPR Kelantan Quantitative data analysis was conducted using non-face-to-face approach by google questionnaires and surveys to gather information. Almost 115 occupants responded to the data collection as the sample size. The findings from the literature review and the questionnaire responses confirmed that lighting features contribute most to the satisfaction level of the residents of the PPR Kota Bharu followed by the indoor air quality, services, defects in building, design, and material. It is recommended that future research broaden the case study's scope beyond PPR Kota Bharu and concentrate on a particular aspect of safety features in low-strata housing. Researchers might have a more comprehensive understanding of safety features from many contexts and dig more into the chosen features, eventually producing more accurate and perceptive results.
