Assessment on the School’s Safety Practices Characteristics: District of Perak Tengah, Perak, Malaysia
Abstract
Safe school implementation has received a lot of attention from scholars, stakeholders, and policymakers. In Malaysia, the Ministry of Education has repeatedly emphasised the importance of providing a safe school environment. This study examines the safety practices characteristics of primary schools in Perak Tengah district. The study aims to identify and analyse key safety practice characteristics within three primary schools. The findings highlighted three identified variables known as awareness, implementation, and monitoring. The identified safety practice characteristics, such as emergency procedures practice, staff and student involvement, accessibility of safety equipment, and implementation of safety criteria, all scored mean values above 4.21, indicating their significance. Furthermore, the study emphasises the importance of every stakeholder to consistently support the idea of a safe school environment.
