Every industry in a country is strives to adopt all of the advanced technology that has become accessible as technology advances. Shortly, the establishment of the Construction Industry Master Plan (CIMP) has resulted in initiatives in the implementation of innovative approaches towards a sustainable construction environment through the Industrialised Building System (IBS). Nonetheless, from the start of the first IBS project in 1964 until the present, acceptability of IBS in Malaysia among construction partners has been low, owing mostly to insufficient risk management associated with IBS projects. Therefore, this study aims to explore the contractor’s perspectives on the constraints of IBS implementation in order to help contractors in making decision that will lead to successful project execution. The objective of this study is to examine the strategies to overcome the constraints of Industrialised Building System (IBS) project. This study employed a quantitative approach. 85 questionnaires were distributed to contractors (G1 to G7) that specialised in IBS project and 45 respondents the questionnaires. The results were analysed using the SPSS version 28 and descriptive statistical analysis. According to the results of the analysis, respondents agreed that the main five (5) strategies to overcome the constraints in IBS project were provide more incentives, provide loan assistance, escalate the adoption of ICT, introduce IBS syllabus in university and expand IBS awareness campaign.
