Abstract

Workplace incivility is one of many types of workplace abuse. It affects anyone, but it may be prone to happen to hospitality industry workers such as hotel employees. This negative behavior has a significant negative impact on the employees. This study wants to determine the effect of guest incivility behavior on hotel employees' job performance. This study employs a descriptive research design using a quantitative questionnaire approach—one hundred seven hotel employees were involved in this research. This research shows that guest uncivility behavior does hurt their job performance. They will likely have low job satisfaction, lower organizational commitment, increased turnover intentions, and higher stress levels. Future research can be conducted with a larger sample size as a small number of respondents from the hotel might not represent the majority of hotel employees. The hotel industry and stakeholders should use the result to grasp a solution to said problem.
