Impact of Academic Attitude and Competitiveness on Management Policies in China
Abstract
This study aims to examine the moderating role of management policies in the relationship between academic attitude and institution competitiveness in the context of Chinese faculty turnover. Recognizing the significance of management policies in shaping educational dynamics, this research focuses on private universities in southern China and explores the intricate connection between academic stance, university competitiveness, and these policies. Drawing on theoretical frameworks such as Social Exchange Theory and Self-Determination Theory, this study investigates the factors influencing academic attitude and faculty turnover intention. The participants in this quantitative study were four hundred teachers from Nanchang Institute of Technology, and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling was employed for data analysis. The findings reveal significant correlations among academic attitude, faculty turnover intention, and management policies. Additionally, the article sheds light on the challenges faced by Chinese colleges when implementing management policies. To enhance academic attitude, bolster university competitiveness, and address faculty turnover issues, this study underscores the significance of effective management practices.
