Co-Curriculum: What Students Say

Abstract

A reflective journal is part of a practice and is included in different fields of study. It includes information of personal growth, challenges and development of individuals. Every person has an innate need to become better. This research explores the use of reflection in co-curriculum activities as the researchers believe that it facilitates the learner to develop soft skills and leads the individual to independent learning. By each individual reflecting on a completed co-curricular activity, the team member improves ethical values and becomes more confident. In this study, which includes 114 individual reflections of students, the researchers hope to explore the experiences, challenges and learning gained by participating in a variety of co-curricular events. The focus on the use of reflections is made to note how reflective writing encourages learners to examine their reasoning and critical thinking skills, which would benefit them in the future.
