Abstract

This article comparatively analyzes the visual narrative characteristics of traditional Chinese culture picture books across two distinct periods (2006-2008 and 2009-2022). Using Nvivo qualitative software, the study examines these picture books from five aspects: narrative design, graphic design, color design, compositional design, and layout design. The results show that while there is continuity in some areas between the two periods, significant changes are evident in style, medium, and color tones. These changes reflect the creators' innovation and exploration in traditional cultural picture books, revealing the development trajectory and trends of traditional Chinese culture in illustrated books.
