Abstract

This study intends to analyse publications associated with sepak takraw utilising a bibliometric and scoping investigation to synthesise the relevant literature. This retrospective bibliometric and scoping analysis utilised publications registered in the Scopus and Web of Science databases for increased efficiency and objectivity. ScientoPy has been used to clarify the output and gain information regarding publication growth, countries, keywords, and scoping analysis. This study also scrutiny a network analysis to discover themes and subthemes of the research using VOSviewer by identifying associations between subjects represented by keywords. The proliferation of sepak takraw publications in Scopus and Web of Science databases have fluctuated and not exceeded five publications per year. This study identified that Asia countries dominate sepak takraw research and publications. The top ten keywords include sepak takraw, Dempster-Shafer theory, sport tourists, bicycle kick, coaching, competition, development, javelin, move prediction, and sport. The scoping analysis found that most research samples for sepak takraw players were male. The phenomena of interest in sepak takraw centred mostly on examining performance-enhancing strategies, techniques, and tactics. This study reveals the current position of sepak takraw research to encourage the development of new-fangled studies and global scientific discoveries that will benefit athletes, coaches, and policymakers.
