Abstract

Waste-water is a discharge generated by almost all household and industries worldwide. Many innovative technologies utilized zeolite as material to reduce and eliminate the contaminants in this effluent. The review describes the current application and modification of zeolite in wastewater treatment, involving, acid and surfactants treatments, zeolite-composite such as zeolite-membrane, permeable reactive barriers and photocatalysts. Furthermore, the properties of zeolite, regeneration and desorption of cast-off zeolite are also briefly reviewed.
