Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

AJODL is an international double-blind peer-reviewed journal that is published bi-annually in June and December. The journal is currently indexed under the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), Malaysian Citation Index (MCI) and Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI).

We welcome contributors from all around the world. Interested authors may submit your manuscript any time.

The manuscript submitted must be original, previously unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in any other format elsewhere. If it is published in this journal, it must not be published elsewhere in the same form or even in any translated form without written consent from Open University Malaysia.

The manuscript submitted must be approved by all named authors and relevant authorities. The responsibility of obtaining such permission lies with the author(s). The author(s) must also obtain required written permission and credit sources if the submitted article contains excerpts from other copyrighted works.

Manuscript Template and Format

The manuscript must be prepared using the attached Microsoft Word template in English (UK). Please download the provided manuscript template and use it to prepare the manuscript. The number of accepted pages is between 6 and 10 pages.

The font used must be Arial 11pt and single spaced. The manuscript must have the following sections:
(i) Title,
(ii) Name of authors with postal and e-mail addresses,
(iii) Abstract,
(iv) Keywords,
(v) Introduction,
(vi) Literature Review,
(vii) Body of text with headers,
(viii) Conclusion and
(ix) Reference.

An acknowledgement section could be added between the conclusion and the reference sections. The references must be cited according to the APA referencing format. All figures (including graphs) and tables must be clearly depicted and labelled. Please note that failure to comply with the above format and regulations will result in the manuscript not being considered for publication. 

 

Corresponding authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • only original work that is free of plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication is submitted.
  • the submitted article has not been published elsewhere and is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
  • the work reported has been carried after a thorough ethical consideration required in the field of research.
  • secure reproduction rights for the use of resources
  • contributions from all individual to the article submitted are accurately reflected in the co-author listing and publication credits.
  • all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the submitted article, and the final version of amended article.
  • the signed copyright form is submitted upon consultation with co-authors.
  • every comments/ concerns raised by the reviewers are addressed in revising the article as per the instructions given.
  • the work submitted adhere to journal policies and guidelines.
  • amended journal articles are submitted in a timely manner.
  • all forms of corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies are communicated to the journal secretariat.
