1. What is the scope of MABJ?

MABJ considers all fields of biology and applied biology.

2. Is MABJ indexed? Does MABJ have an impact factor?

MABJ is indexed in Scopus, MyCite (MyJurnal), Biosis, Zoological Records, EBSCO, CNKI and Elsevier. MABJ is listed in Thomson Reuters Master Journal List. The journal does not have an impact factor yet but we hope to be included in Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports soon.

3. Is MABJ a peer reviewed journal?

Yes. All manuscripts will be evaluated by two reviewers within the field of expertise as appointed by the editor/s.

4. What are the types of articles published in MABJ?

There are basically two types of articles: Full research article and research note. A research note is a short communication that doesn’t contain abstract and section subheadings. The reviewers can also suggest that a manuscript to be published as research note if they feel that the research is not adequate for a full paper. We occasionally publish review article by invitation and research articles from MSAB Symposium.

 

5. How much is the publication fee?

Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication, the corresponding author is required to remit to the Chief Editor the sum of RM400.00 (MSAB Members), RM600.00 (Non MSAB Members) or USD300.00 (overseas). Payment should be made in favor of PERSATUAN BIOLOGI GUNAAN MALAYSIA.

 

Journal Policy

Ethical issues

Manuscript submitted to the journal must be original, previously unpublished and not under the consideration of other journals simultaneously. Authors are responsible to obtain written permissions to reproduce any materials from other sources that are used in the manuscript, e.g. figures, tables and illustrations.

Open Access

The journal is an open access journal which is freely available online. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles without prior permission from the publisher and authors.

Any reproduction of figures, tables and illustrations must obtain written permission from the chief editor ( wicki@ukm.edu.my). No part of the journal may be reproduced without the editor’s permission. The journal is published by:
