Campuran Tanah Liat Dan Sisa Bata Simen Dalam Menentukan Sifat Geoteknik Tanah
AbstractSoil is a complex construction with a variable characteristic. While the soil acts as a supporter burden on all the structures. Civil engineer is need to study the composition and soil properties such as size distribution of land, type of soil, permeability, compressibility, shear strength and load bearing capacity of the soil. This study was conducted to find other alternatives to stabilize the clay soil which is classified as challenging for the construction process. The content of water percentage in clay is higher than other land. Especially for the construction in compressibility and high humidity and low shear strength. A study of geotechnical properties of clay mixed with waste cement was conducted where the Atterberg limits and compaction tests carried out to obtain the plastic limit, liquid limit, the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of the soil. The percentage of waste cement mixture is 0%, 10%, 25% and 50% of the clay weight. The Atterberg limit test findings showed that the readings plastic limit decreased from 35% to 27%, the liquid had dropped from 81% to 56% and plasticity index also declined from 46% to 29%. While the compression test results showed that the soil density reading increased from 1380 kg/m3 to 1523 kg/m3 and the water content percentage decreased from 23% to 16%. Based on the data obtained the addition of waste cement the water content is reduced and the density of clay increased. It shows that the waste cement is suitable to be used as a reinforcement to stabilize the soil.
